New Generation Software presents the following training class for NGS-IQ customers and business partners:

This training class is an opportunity to fine tune your product knowledge and skills, learn how to use new functions in the latest release, and expand your day-to-day use of NGS-IQ. We recommend that attendees have a basic knowledge of IQ Server (Interactive Query), since we'll be covering more advanced functions of the product.

The cost to attend the training class is $150 per person—a tremendous savings compared to the usual cost associated with software training. This fee includes the class, training materials, breakfast, and lunch. The registration fee is non-refundable; however, it can be transferred to other people in your company.

Class Description

Since the class will focus on the advanced features and functions of the product, we strongly recommend that attendees have a basic knowledge of IQ Server (Interactive Query). The format for the training class will be lecture style, taught by NGS' IQ Support Team. Functions and features to be covered include the following:

Conditional Calculations

  • IF/THEN…do you need an ELSE? We'll explain that and all the reasons you'd want to use conditions.
  • "Special" conditional field: PREV what? SKIP what? COUNT what? All special conditions are demystified!

2.

Date Arithmetic

  • Do you know when to use IQDATE vs. DATE COND CALCS vs. REAL DATES?
    We'll show you an easy way to decide.

3.

Tables

  • Why use them, when and when not to use them, and how to attach them.

4.

Writing queries for SmartView: all the things you don't have to do in the query.
Designing NGS-IQ Queries with Placeholder Fields for Future SmartViews.

SQL (Structured Query Language)

Meta-Data

  • Have you ever formatted a field in IQ? Then you can use Meta!

7.

Security

  • What's built in? What's in IQ SeQure? How much security do you need? What's an example of a basic database security solution? Should your company be using IQ SeQure? Understand what IQ SeQure can do to simplify database security issues. Learn how to use the new "feature security module."

8.

Exit Programs

  • Three places to tie in external programs - new fields, before the query starts, or after the query ends.
