Sacramento, California...March 3, 2003...New Generation Software, Inc. (NGS) recently announced a new release of Decision Assist, NGS' immediately deployable business intelligence starter kit that provides distributors and manufacturers with pre-built analytical reports, presentations and ready-to-use data warehouse model for sales analysis, customer profitability and inventory management.
The new release of Decision Assist delivers added functionality to meet specific reporting requirements. Included among the enhancements are "Manufacturer Item Reports" that indicate sales and cost data based on the manufacturer's item number. Specific reports include top and bottom by invoice amount and profit margin, manufacture item turns, manufacture items sales by customers, and manufacture items sales vs. inventory dollars.
Also introduced in the release are new business analysis and detail of sales analysis reports. Another enhancement is the ability to show data by weeks, and net sales dollars compared to net order dollars (the total minus any discounts). The new release also provides support for multiple companies.
Decision Assist uses the modular NGS-IQ™ business intelligence suite of products developed by New Generation Software to extract, transform, cleanse and present data from iSeries 400-based
distribution management software system. With a mouse click, managers and users can easily extract data into their favorite Windows formats, such as Microsoft Excel and Lotus spreadsheets, Access tables, Word documents, HTML text or NGS-IQ's multi dimensional OLAP module. Decision Assist can be customized without programming.
