Calculate the Cost of DB2 Web Query
Total Cost and Licensing Terms
Your NGS-IQ license enables you to install the IQ Server software on your System i and the companion Windows modules, in either connected or offline mode, on a designated number of PC’s. Your NGS-IQ license manager controls the number of queries you can simultaneously process. Because of the offline options for developers, analysts, and performance dashboard viewing, most companies can support a large number of offline users with just a small number of concurrent users and connected client licenses. E-mail and FTP functions are integrated, so you don’t need to license a separate module.
QU2 developers are licensed by named user. You must register each user profile in the QU2 application and purchase named user licenses for everyone who develops queries—whether they use the software frequently or only occasionally. There is a runtime enablement fee if you want to assign some of your named user licenses to groups of users who only need to run queries. QU2’s OLAP and Active Reports features are separately licensed. At least one license of QU2’s Windows Developer Workbench is required if you want to use the OLAP feature. E-mail and report distribution requires another module that must be licensed from Information Builders, Inc. (IBI), not IBM.
If you compare these two licensing methods and think about your requirements, we believe you will find NGS’ terms are easier to understand and manage.
