IBM DB2 Web Query Software Maintenance (SWMA)
DB2 Web Query is an IBM Licensed Program Product (LPP) with its own SWMA fees. It isn't included in IBM's 2022 IBM i License Simplification plan. Customers considering DB2 Web Query Express or Standard should ask their IBM Business Partner to clarify the SWMA fees and terms.
IBM SWMA fees for the Standard edition are significantly higher than for the Express edition. Additional SWMA fees apply if you add modules, features, and users.
If you aren't using or don't plan to use DB2 Web Query, or you have found your users mostly turn to the familiar interface of Query/400 instead of DB2 Web Query, ask your IBM Business Partner about the stand-alone Query for i (5770-QU1) support announced on January 8, 2019.
IBM also publishes “after-license” fees that they may charge customers who try to license DB2 Web Query on a new IBM POWER server after not having current SWMA on their prior server. IBM after-license fees apply even if you never installed or implemented DB2 Web Query. Speak to your IBM Business Partner before you accept an invoice that includes after-license fees.
